Dead Sexy Inc s’est fondé à Los Angeles , le groupe signe son premier album « Break Me » produit par Paul Kendall (Depeche Mode, NIN, …) sur le label allemand Electro Shock Records (sortie début 2003), puis chez Hypnotic/Cleopatra, le plus ancien label de musique electro et gothique américain, qui les prend sous son aile sur le continent Américain.
En deux années de débauche leurs morceaux atterrissent sur un nombre impressionnant de compilations internationales : ElectroClash Vol 2 chez Mogul Rec, Dance to the underground chez Virgin, The great electrocash swindle chez Hypnotic, Electropunk’d chez Cleopatra... Et ils multiplient leur activité de remixeurs entre autre chez Marylin Manson, Elektra-kill, Cool Kids of Death, Nun, ou encore Pitchshifter et No One is Innocent…
Été 2004 ils sortent chez Universal la compilation « Mix Shake » qui se vendra plus de 20 000 copies (Peaches, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Visage, Lords of the New Church…).
Ils réalisent plusieurs morceaux pour des campagnes de publicités Nintendo, se produisent en tant que DJ au Sarajevo Film Festival, au Music Outsider Festival de Larry Tee à New York… Et tournent un road movie co produit par Agnes B, pendant le dernier mois de la campagne des élections américaines.
Un voyage de Los Angeles à New York avec de nombreuses rencontres et interviews d’artistes comme Thurston Moore, Jonas Mekas, Jim Fœtus, Chas Krider, Greil Marcus, John Giorno… Ils s’installent à l’issue de ce voyage à New York. Ce film est présenté pour la première fois en version live/Ciné au Festival Idéal de Nantes en avril 2005.
Sur scène, ils s’adjoignent des services du batteur Don Ragno (Lycosia, Flamming Pussy), le groupe se produit au festival Numéro de Lisbonne aux cotés de Fischerspooner et Miss Kittin, ils ouvrent pour le groupe Vive La Fête à la Locomotive (Paris), et participe au SXSW festival d’Austin. On les croise entre autre au Pretty Ugly Club de Los Angeles, à Sacramento, aux soirées Byte à New York, au Kinzo de Berlin, au Pohda de Moscow…
Leur titre reprise de Johnny Thunder « Born To Lose » rentre dans la play list de Steve Jones des Sex Pistols qui anime le Jonesy Jukebox sur Indie 101 à Los Angeles. Le titre « Afterhours » mixé par Paul Kendall est enregistré pour la compilation du magazine New Yorkais Zing Magazine et « Save Me Now » est utilisé pour la publicité du jeu Baten Kaitos. Dead Sexy Inc. got started in Los Angeles, the band signed their first record « Break Me » produced by Paul « P.K.» Kendall (Depeche Mode, Recoil, NIN..) for Electro Shock Records (Germany 2003), then found a house with Hypnotic/Cleopatra in 2004, the number one american electro goth record company.
Within a year, the Dead Sexy Inc. electro dico punk sounds appears on various international compilations (ElectroClash Vol 2, Dance to the underground ,The great electrocash swindle...) and their talent as remixers is used by such artists as Marylin Manson, Indochine, Cool Kids of Death, Nun, or Pitchshifter…
Spring 2004, the band release it’s first mixed compilation for Universal (« Mix Shake » with Peaches, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Visage, Lords of the New Church… that sold more than 20 000 copies.
In 2005, they leave Los Angeles behind and shoot a road movie, « We had a dream » (produced by Agnes B, DVD release in 2007), in between California and New York City. During the shooting of the movie they crossed path and interviewed such artists as Thurston Moore, Jonas Mekas, Jim Fœtus, Chas Kreider, John Giorno… and ended up relocating in New York City where the finished the edit and the mix of the movie soundtrack, recorded on the road.
In a few month, they open for Vive La Fête at La Locomotive (Paris), they played SXSW festival in Austin, Numero Festival in Porto (Miss Kittin, Fisherspooner…), Byte party in New York, Kinzo in Berlin for the Club Nacht Europa Festival,and they apear at the Sarajevo Film Festival, at the Music Outsider Festival of Larry Tee in New York, or at Podha in Moscow…
Fall 2005, Dead Sexy Inc. wrote 2 songs for Larry Tee’s new record « Rock ‘n’rave » with Princess Superstar, Marc Bell of LFO and Vince Clarck of Erasure/Depeche Mode. Without catching breath, Dead Sexy Inc. found time to remix Indochine last sold out new single « Adora », and to track 2 songs for the release of the Nintendo « DS Lite » and upcoming « WII »… Not to forget about Playstation, they played live for the European release of « Guitar Hero 2 ».
Early 2007, starts the post production of« Kamikaze » writen and recorded in between Los Angeles, New York and Paris. On the production and arrangements seat, Christophe De Syd who just finished producing Sweden NUD record and behind the SSL : famous french engineer, Mazarin (Olivia Ruiz, No One Is Innocent…).
Special guests on « Kamikaze » Nicola Sirkis (Indochine), Japanese superstar Kenzo A (Gadget/Stigmata), Lora (Puss In Boots), Giorgio (Male Room), l’écrivain Maurice G Dantec, Larry Tee, Mickey Blöw and Le Baron (Sylvain Sylvain, Le Cercle).
